This photo study of the Fairfax Family Cemetery was done in response to a report to FCCPA by neighbors that the cemetery was neglected and deteriorating. In the late 19th century, the two occupants, Benjamin F. and Mary E. Fairfax, owned and farmed approximately 200 acres of land. The cemetery was located near their farmhouse, which no longer stands. Today, the site is surrounded by single-family homes on Richardson Dr. in the Kings Park West subdivision. Until a few years ago, an adjacent property owner cared for the cemetery but has since moved away. Now the site is clearly in decline and in need of a caretaker.
